Q: What is the difference between hot wax and strip wax?

A: Hot wax is spread like honey upon the skin and then peeled away. This is least uncomfortable form of waxing which removes the hair directly from the root and that equals to far lees in-grown hairs, far less breakage and therefore logically longer lasting. This wax also promotes skin hydration and is highly recommended for sensitive areas whereas strip waxing is recommended for thicker/less sensitive skin like the legs.

Q: How long should my hair be for waxing?

A: Our hot wax will remove hair as short as 1mm in length. however for larger areas of the body like the legs we suggest leaving the hair to grow a little longer.

Q: What after-care do I need to follow?

A: It is recommended not to exfoliate & not to attend the gym, swimming, self-tan or sunbeds for around 24 hours.

Threading - Hair Removal

Threading is a technique of removing hair practiced since time immemorial in the Middle East, South Asia and South-East Asia and now becoming popular in the West. Threading involves twisting a thread of pure cotton between the fingers and around rows of hair to pull them out of their roots.

Benefits of Threading

Fast Way to Remove Hair

Threading removes many hairs in one go, in contrast to tweezing or plucking, where hairs are removed one by one; so, it is a faster and less painful method of removing hair. For example, threading a set of eyebrows usually takes around 15 minutes and threading the upper lip takes around 5-7 minutes by a skilled professional, whereas plucking the eyebrows can take anywhere from 30-45 minutes.

Specialised Technique Gives a Perfectly Chiselled Effect

Threading is considered to be a more specialised way of removing hair, especially from the eyebrows, because it involves a technique of removing hair in their natural lines, thereby, giving a more chiselled effect and well-arched eyebrows.

Gentle with No Harm to Skin

Threading rarely causes harm to the skin and suits even people with sensitive skin. It is therefore, especially good for facial hair removal, where the skin is particularly sensitive. Threading is also often preferred over other hair removal methods like waxing, depilatory creams, bleaching etc. because they may not suit every skin type and methods like shaving should not be used. In this way, your skin is saved from the wrath of harmful chemicals and hot wax, and so, retains its glow and elasticity without falling victim to premature wrinkles as may occur after years of waxing.

Laser Hair Removal – Soon to come

Permanent removal of hair anywhere is not a one time and you're done deal. Laser hair removal usually takes at least three sessions, can be quite painful and is of considerable cost. It is, however (once finished) permanent and you won't need to pay for waxing or tweezing again and the pain's over.

Laser hair removal is actually a permanent hair reduction as most people will need a touch-up treatment especially on large areas. The hair that grows back after having gone through a series of Laser treatment is normally finer and sparser.

This method of hair reduction has become popular because of its speed and efficacy.

Laser hair reduction works by passing a light beam through the skin. The laser targets dark pigment, called melanin, in air. When the light beam hits the hair follicle, the intense heat damages/destroys the hair follicle.

Laser works best with dark coarse hair where light skin and dark hair are a perfect combination for a successful treatment. The newer lasers are now able to target dark hair even in patients with dark skin. Laser hair removal does not always work for white, blonde, light brown or light red hair.

This treatmentis not painful but can be uncomfortable. A hand held laser instrument is pressed to your skin. The surface of the skin is kept cool with chilled gel or contact cooling through a window cooled by circulating water or cold air.
